Rescuing Clients from another Mortgage Broker

Rescuing Clients from another Mortgage Broker – Mortgage clients often need help and support from mortgage brokers who have correct work ethics (just like me) after they have had a bad experience with their previous mortgage broker. Disappointed clients are often forced to look for mortgage help elsewhere after their original mortgage broker failed to get the job done for them.

I was prompted to write an article for one of our industry publications after recently taking on several new clients only to find that the Mortgage Broker that they had dealt with previously had not done such a great job. In fact, I would go as far as saying an appalling job was done and the mortgage brokers concerned had not just acted unethically but had done things which could Rescuing Clients from another Mortgage Broker Mortgage Guardianwarrant being struck off.

Mortgage Solutions, a mortgage industry publication published an article that I wrote on 13th August 2018. The article rang true with several other mortgage brokers who also kindly shared their experiences.

Why I wrote the article?

Basically, I was appalled at how a professional mortgage broker could treat customers unfairly in this day and age. It is also astonishing to think that the mortgage industry was regulated in 2004 with the aim of providing consumers with a better safety net. Additionally, mortgage advisers must adhere to new rules governing the sale of mortgages and charges cannot be excessive. It is a shame that 14 years after regulation began we still have mortgage advisers excessively charging customers, flouting the rules and generally not treating customers fairly. This can have disastrous consequences for people seeking a mortgage as I am sure some people would give up at the first hurdle.

I also think that money can be too much of a driving force in the industry. The potential to earn a lot of money can Rescuing Clients from another Mortgage Broker Mortgage Guardiansometimes blind a mortgage adviser into providing the bare minimum of service whilst still charging the customer an excessive broker fee.
